Does it mean the todo service app goes down if the auth service is down?

Have you thought of an implementation that is not reliant on the auth service again once the auth token is generated for the first time so that subsequent request passes even if the auth service is eventually down. I found this article helpful. Please let me know your thoughts on that. Thanks
